For my 29th post I think I will tell you a story. my husband has a best friend named Hans who is a tall asian man and computer wizard that also knows something about everything. two saturdays ago, he visits and asks my husband if he wants to go buy nice suits. He does and i go along as their aesthetic consultant. We go to the mall and speak with people and look at several suits. My husband likes a grey hugo boss and Hans likes the same in black. they both pay cash for the suits and we find ties in another store. hans wants to wear a black shirt with his black suit so we look for a statement tie. he wanted to go with this lurid, pink thing until i found this amazing red paisley on a black background that looked really wicked on him. my husband found a sporty looking tie of blue and green houndstooth he was going to wear with a blue shirt in his black suit (he left his new grey one to be tailored). My husband also bought new shoes. they both looked pretty spiffy and were enjoying the fruits of their hard work and it was a pleasure to see them.
then my husband's friend Hans says, let's go to the casino! Hans rarely went and my husband had never been in St. Louis. so i put on a black dress and my fur coat and we all went to the casino in downtown St. Louis.
the boys went to play blackjack and i went with them. i don't gamble because the universe basically tells me not to. between all the numerology and the deck's analogue to the tarot, i can't really figure out how to tie money in. instead i just watched and read the stories that play out at the table. i've wondered before what it is that makes for winning at a gamble and that night i rediscovered what it's all about: sex. duh. we were sexy. we were all dressed up in a sea of sportsfans. we were, by far, the sexiest people there. and we were happy and had apparent affection for one another. and at the core of it, my husband and i were attractive, sexy and obviously in love. we were reaching into the fourth dimension with our energy and affecting the crowd en masse. our table became hot and everyone was winning. my husband and hans were magnanimously tipping the dealers and having chatty, fun conversations with them and everyone at the table. and so they won. and they kept winning and all the stories and numbers on the table were about sex and power and machismo and money itself.
now, my husband won about fifty percent more than hans i'd say and from the tarot on the table i have to assume it is because he came with me and i was funneling energy to him. the thing about money is that it sort of starts feminine, passive, latent and earthy and then when it moves and is spent it becomes more masculine, but it sort of starts feminine. i know because the pentacles suit in the tarot is feminine and pentacles are literally coins covered in the star shape that venus, the female planet, traces in the night sky. yep, so guys if you can, go to a casino with a gal and gals, its a little crazy for you to gamble, energetically, since passivity is the mark of the high priestess. the magician, her male counterpart, however, is sort of made to gamble, but needs his high priestess to win big. the magician is the essence of action and resourcefulness and i think my husband is like him. and so he won several hundred dollars his first time playing blackjack because he had his high priestess ;) then later in the week we all reverted back to our original selves and played dungeons and dragons. :)
