These are my notes taken from the mouth of God via the book Conversations with God by Neal Donald Walsch.
words are merely utterances: noises that stand for feelings, thought, and experience. they are symbols. signs. insignias. they are not truth. they are not the real thing. words may help you understand something. experience allows you to know.
not all feelings, not all thought, not all experiences and not all words are from god. many thoughts and many feelings have been sponsored by causes not of god's direct creation. the difficulty is know the difference between messages from god and data from other sources.
god is always your highest thought, your clearest words, your grandest feeling. anything less is from another source. the highest thought is always that thought which contains joy. the clearest words are those words which contain truth. the grandest feeling is that feeling which you call love. joy, truth, and love; these three are interchangeable.
god has given you free will - the power to do as you choose, and they will never take that away from you, ever.
you cannot ignore god's messages once truly heard.
all people are special and all moments are golden.
by listening to what other people think they heard god say you don't have to think at all. if you acknowledge that you are receiving god's messages directly, then you are responsible for interpreting them. it is far safer and much easer to accept the interpretation of others.
god does not reveal godself to godself from or through outward observation, but through inward experience.
if you have but the faith of a mustard seed you shall move mountains.
if you believe that god is the creator and decider of all things in your life, you are mistaken. god is the observer, not the creator. it is not god's function to create or uncreate the circumstances or conditions of your life. god created you, in the image and likeness of god. you have created the rest, through the power god has given you. your will for you is god's will for you.
it is this doubt about ultimate outcome that has created your greatest enemy, which is fear. for if you doubt outcome, then you must doubt creator, you must doubt god. and if you doubt god, you must live in fear and guilt all your life.
for it is the nature of people to love, then destroy then love again that which they value most.
every human thought, and every human action, is based in either love or fear. these are the raw energies that drive the engine of human experience.
you have projected the role of parent onto god and have thus come up with a god who judges and rewards or punishes, based on how good they feel about what you've been up to. the idea of a god who is not to be feared, who does not judge, and who has no cause to punish is simply too magnificent to be embraced.
fear is the energy which contracts, closes down, draws in, runs, hides, hoards and harms.
love is the energy which expands, opens up, sends out, stays, reveals, shares, and heals.
when you choose the action love sponsors then will you do more than survive, then will you do more than win, then will you do more than succeed.
there is only one purpose for all of life and this is for you and all that lives to experience fullest glory.
life is an opportunity for you to know experientially what you already know conceptually. god's purpose in creating us was for god to know itself as god. they have no way to do that except though us. thus god's purpose for us is that we should know ourselves to be god. this is god's ideal: that they should become realized through us. that thus, concept is turned into experience, that god might know itself experientially.
it is this creation of duality between love and fear which humans refer to in their mythologies as the birth of evil, the fall of Adam, the rebellion of Satan, complete with angelic soldiers and devilish warriors.
the triune truth
father, son and holy ghost
superconscious, conscious and subconscious
mind, body and spirit
energy, matter and ether
thought, word and deed
past, present, and future
before, now, and after
here, there and the space between
life itself is a rhythm. it is a wave, a vibration, a pulsation at the very heart of the all that is.
judge not, then, the karmic path walked by another. envy not success, nor pity failure, for you know not what is success or failure in the soul's reckoning. call not a thing calamity, nor joyous event, until you decided, or witness, how it is used. for is a death a calamity if it saves the lives of thousands? and is a life a joyous event if it has caused nothing but grief? yet even this you should not judge, but keep always your own counsel, and allow others theirs.
there are no victims in the world, and no villains.
in the largest sense, all the "bad" things that happen are of your choosing. the mistake is not in choosing them, but in calling them bad. for in calling them bad, you call yourself bad, since you created them. this label you cannot accept, so rather than label yourself bad, you disown your creations. it is this intellectual and spiritual dishonesty which lets you accept a world in which conditions are as they are. if you had to accept, or even felt a deep inner sense of, personal responsibility for the world, it would be a far different place. this would certainly be true if everyone felt responsible. that this is so patently obvious is what makes it so utterly painful and so poignantly ironic.
the way to reduce the pain which you associate with earthly experiences and events is to change the way you behold them. you cannot change the outer ever so you must change the inner experience. pain is a result of wrong thought. pain results from a judgement you have made about a thing. remove the judgement and the pain disappears. this is original sin, when your first thought about a thing is in error. remember this: that which you condemn will condemn you, and that which you judge you will one day become.
there are those who say that god has given you free will, yet these same people claim that if you do not obey god, they will send you to hell. what kind of free will is that? does this not make a mockery of god, to say nothing of any sort of true relationship between us? - belial points this out
if you do not go within, you go without.
there is nothing you cannot be, there is nothing you cannot do, there is nothing you cannot have.
defeat misery and death
a society living in fear inevitably produces in form that which it fears most
if you don't see god in the profane and the profound, you're missing half the story. god is in the sadness and the laughter, in the bitter and the sweet. there is a divine purpose behind everything.
if there were such a thing as sin, this would be it: to allow yourself to become what you are because of the experience of others.
deity has no needs. all this is is exactly that: all that is. it therefore wants, or lacks, nothing. if you choose to believe in a god who somehow needs something, and has such hurt feelings if they don't get it that they punish those from whom they expect to receive it, then you choose to believe in a god much smaller than the true god. you truly are children of a lesser god. god is without needs. god requires nothing.
west - denial, you have told yourselves, is goodness.
what you resist persists.
passion is the love of turning being into action
there is nothing scary about life if you are not attached to results
a true master is not the one with the most students, but who creates the most masters. a true leader is not the one with the most followers, but one who creates the most leaders. a true king is not the one with the most subjects, but who leads the most to royalty. a true teacher is not the one with the most knowledge, but one who causes the most others to have knowledge.
the purpose of relationship is to decide what part of yourself you'd like to see show up, not what part of an other you can capture and hold. your obsession with the other is what causes relationships to fail. the purpose of relationship is not to have another who might complete you, but to have another with whom you might share your completeness.
you must honor your feelings. how can you ever expect to understand and honor the feelings of another if you cannot honor the feelings within yourself?
what you do for yourself you do for another and what you do for another you do for yourself. this is because you and the other are one.
you are incapable of rendering yourself worthy because you are inherently worthy. you were created that way.
people tend to see in themselves what we see in them.
obedience is not creation, and thus can never produce salvation. obedience is a response, while creation is pure choice, undictated, unrequired.
when body, mind and soul create together, in harmony and in unity, god is made flesh.
